Empowering Youth for Sustainable Conservation of Gishwati KBA in Rwanda
For sustainable conservation of all Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) in Rwanda and with the aim of connecting young people with nature, Nature Rwanda, together with development partners, NGOs, the media and the government of Rwanda, replicated this project to the remaining KBAs except Gishwati forest. Educational materials were developed as part of raising awareness of KBA conservation for secondary school students and undergraduate students who lack educational materials. Nature Rwanda worked with the Rwanda University Club for Conservation of Biodiversity (RUCCB) to reach out and engage many students at the University of Rwanda.
The main goal of this project was to build the capacity of youth through awareness raising and disseminating conservation materials on sustainable conservation of the Gishwati Key Biodiversity Areas in Rwanda.
