At Nature Rwanda, we know the importance of educating children. We trust that incorporating informal settings into traditional classroom practices is a wonderful and unforgettable opportunity for young people people to become involved in environmental conservation, showing them that by working together, we can ensure a sustainable future.

In this regard, Nature Rwanda organized a conservation talk on the Endangered Vulture species at Gataraga primary school in conjunction with the 2021 Celebration of Endangered Species Day. The presentation highlighted the threats posed to that vulture species, ranging from habitat loss to extinction, as well as informed students how they can act now to counteract such threats.

Outcomes

  • Students acknowledge the interrelationships between natural elements and biodiversity.
  • Vulture species are well understood, and their conservation needs are recognized.
  • The importance of biodiversity and its connection human well-being is recognized.
