Agro-ecology Workshop for Women and Youth

In partnership with the local administration, Nature Rwanda is organizing a two-day workshop on agro-ecology for two groups of 25 women and 25 youth each, who practice agriculture around the Mpenge river. This comes in time the river is vulnerably affected by unsustainable agriculture including the encroachment, and agriculture-based pollution. The workshop is aimed at raising awareness on agro-ecology practice among small-scale farmers around the Mpenge river for enhancing their farming technics to improved crop yield, and improved livelihoods leading to the sustainable conservation of the river.
The workshop outcomes are;
- A resilient community around the Mpenge river through agro-ecology practices as a tool for sustainable agriculture and improved livelihoods.
- An enhanced working system with community members towards river conservation.
